Born in Stockton, I was raised in an Army family and inspired to serve others.
Throughout my youth, I participated in many community outreach programs, providing food and clothes to people experiencing homelessness and those in need. I also volunteered at the California Youth Authority, where I spoke to and encouraged youth in the juvenile justice system.
Driven by a desire to serve my country, I joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in 2001 and began my training at the military police academy. Later, I was recruited by the White House Military Office and assigned to Marine One, where I served President George W. Bush.
Following my military service in 2005, I spent eight years with one of the nation’s top private security companies in Silicon Valley. I rose to the position of District Manager, responsible for an annual budget exceeding $55 million, a district support staff of 22, and a total employee base of over 1300.
In 2013, I felt a calling to resign from my corporate position and serve the Stockton community through full-time ministry at a local church. As the Executive Administrator, I oversaw finances, implementing the church’s vision, daily operations, and community outreach initiatives. I find the greatest fulfillment in assisting those in need and helping them access resources that provide aid and hope.
My decision to begin four years of service as Mayor in 2021 stemmed from my love for people and a desire to serve the City of Stockton. As Mayor, I focused on addressing the fundamental needs of the Stockton community through public, private, and non-profit partnerships, with key focus areas including youth programming and development, public safety, and economic development.
I now advise organizations to build sustainable, results-driven business development strategies. I specialize in strategic financial planning and resource optimization to strengthen organizational resilience. I aim to equip mission-driven institutions with the economic plan and infrastructure to achieve lasting impact.
I hold an Associate of Arts in Business, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership.
